The LOLABAT project concluded successfully with the final event in Milan

On September 9, 2024, the LOLABAT Final Event took place at RINA’s Milan office and online, successfully bringing together a distinguished group of experts from the EU energy storage sector. The event showcased comprehensive presentations from all LOLABAT project partners, who shared their research outcomes and advancements in Nickel-Zinc (NiZn) battery technology. Additionally, representatives from the BRIDGE initiative, the BEPA association, and 15 H2020 projects from across Europe contributed insights and findings from their respective projects, enriching the dialogue.

Optima Technology presented in-depth results for two critical tasks: a Traditional Environmental Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Business Models for Rechargeable Nickel-Zinc Batteries (RNZB). Specifically, regarding the LCA task, a joint journal article titled “A Formulation Model to Compute the Life Cycle Environmental Impact of NiZn Batteries from Cradle to Grave” was published by AITEC and OPTIMA (https://doi.org/10.3390/en17112751).

This event served as an invaluable platform for strengthening collaborations, sharing best practices, and inspiring innovation among visionary industry leaders. Together, we made meaningful strides toward promoting and advancing the adoption of nickel-zinc battery technology across Europe.

To our LOLABAT project partners, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering dedication and collaboration throughout this journey.
